Twistly + Zapier · Workflow

Beta

Turn a Slack message into a PowerPoint deck, automatically

Post a request in a Slack channel, and Twistly builds an editable .pptx deck from it, then replies in the same channel with the file.

Zapier: a paid plan (Professional or higher), because Free runs two-step Zaps only. Twistly: a Pro or Team plan, for the API key. The Twistly Zapier app is in Beta.

How it works

How the Zap runs

Five steps, about three minutes end to end. Step 3 is a deliberate wait: Twistly needs about 90 seconds to build the deck, so Get Presentation must run after it.

Who it’s for

Is this Zap for you?

Deck requests already land in Slack, then wait for someone to pick them up. The Zap answers each request with a first draft.

Who it’s for

  • Marketing and sales teams running a shared #deck-requests channel.
  • Team leads who post the weekly update as a message and want slides from it.
  • Small teams without a designer who need a first draft in minutes, not days.

FAQ

Questions

About the Zap, its limits and the file it makes.

Yes. In step 5, reply in the thread of the original message, so the link sits under the request.

No. This Zap uses the message text. For files, use the files-to-deck Zap with Google Drive, Dropbox or Gmail.

Each message makes one deck, up to 100 decks every 24 hours per API key. In a busy channel, the emoji trigger keeps the count down.
