Compress PPT & PPTX Online — Free PowerPoint Compressor
Shrink presentations up to 100MB without losing slide quality. Free, fast, and built to fix the #1 reason decks get too big: embedded images.
Compress PPT Files with 1 click
Reduce the size of your PowerPoint files online with our FREE PowerPoint PPT compressor.
Easily compress PowerPoint files for email and more. A real 103-slide deck went from 65 MB to 6.5 MB with layout, fonts and animations untouched.
Built for the Real Reason Your PPT Is Too Big
Most oversized presentations aren’t bloated by text or layout — they’re bloated by images. Camera photos, screenshots, and stock images are often far larger than a slide needs on screen, and PowerPoint keeps the full original file even when the image is displayed small.
This compressor targets exactly that: it recompresses and resizes embedded images to cut your file size, while leaving your layout, fonts, animations, and text untouched. If your file is large mainly because of embedded video or audio, image compression alone won’t get you far — see “What This Tool Doesn’t Fix” below for a faster path.
How to Compress a PPT or PPTX File
Step 1: Upload Your File. Drop your .ppt or .pptx file into the tool above. Files up to 100MB are supported.
Step 2: Compress. Click Compress. Your images are optimized in seconds — no software, no installation.
Step 3: Download. Download your smaller file and compare the before/after size shown on screen, then share, upload, or email it.
What Gets Optimized (and What Doesn’t)
Optimized: embedded images are recompressed and resized to cut file size while staying sharp enough for screen and print use.
Left untouched: slide layout, fonts, text, animations, and transitions stay exactly as they were.
Not the target: embedded video and audio aren’t what this tool compresses. If most of your file size comes from video, try PowerPoint’s built-in “Compress Media” option (File > Info > Compress Media) first, or split the presentation into smaller files.
File Limits & Formats
Accepts .ppt and .pptx files up to 100MB. Free to use, no account, no watermark, and no limit on how many times you use it. If your file is larger than 100MB, remove unused slide masters and hidden slides first, or compress embedded media natively in PowerPoint before uploading.
Free and Secure PPT Compressor that Respects your Design
Free versions of most tools offer limited compression capabilities, where either you have to buy the paid tool for the best results, or you end up with low-quality and blurred slides.

Example: What to Expect
A 100MB image-heavy presentation typically compresses down to 10–20MB — enough to clear Gmail’s 25MB and Outlook’s 20MB attachment limits in a single pass. Actual results depend on how many images your deck has and their original resolution.
Every PowerPoint user understands that the best practice for impactful presentations is to keep the slides lightweight, easy to share, and optimized. This is exactly what our free PPT compressor is designed to offer.
Private by Default
Files are transferred over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Your file is automatically deleted after you download the compressed version. No one but you can access the contents of your presentation — we don’t share files with third parties.

Typically up to 90% for image-heavy decks. A 100MB presentation usually compresses to 10–20MB, depending on how many images it contains and their resolution.
No. This tool optimizes embedded images, the most common reason PPT files get oversized. Video and audio files are left as-is. For video-heavy decks, use PowerPoint’s native “Compress Media” feature instead.
No. Only embedded images are recompressed. Layout, fonts, text, and animations stay exactly as they were.
Yes. Files are transferred over an encrypted HTTPS connection and automatically deleted after you download the compressed version.
Upload your .ppt or .pptx file to the PPT size reducer above and download the compressed version — no signup, no watermark. Most decks shrink by 50–90%, because the weight is almost always embedded images: PowerPoint keeps every picture at its original resolution even when the slide displays it small.
If you would rather do it inside PowerPoint, select any image, open the Picture Format tab, choose Compress Pictures, and apply it to all images in the file. Either route leaves your layout, fonts, text, animations and transitions untouched. Video and audio are a separate job — see below.
Compress it first. An image-heavy 100 MB deck typically comes down to 10–20 MB in a single pass, which clears Gmail’s 25 MB and Outlook’s 20 MB attachment limits.
If it is still too large after compression, the weight is video or audio, which image compression does not touch. Three things work, in order of how much quality they cost you:
Use PowerPoint’s own File → Info → Compress Media for embedded video and audio.
Link the video from YouTube or Vimeo instead of embedding it — this usually removes the problem entirely.
Share the deck as a cloud link (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox) rather than as an attachment.
Splitting one deck into two files is the last resort, and it is worth trying the three options above first.
Embedded images, in almost every case. PowerPoint stores each picture at its original resolution — a 12-megapixel phone photo stays 12 megapixels even when it sits in the corner of a slide at thumbnail size — so twenty photos can outweigh everything else in the deck several times over.
Embedded video and audio are the second cause, and far less common. Fonts, animations, transitions, charts and text add almost nothing. This is why compressing the images is usually the whole fix: it targets the one thing that is actually large.
