How a Twistly Zap runs

Twistly builds decks in the background, so every Zap waits before it collects the file. Skip the wait and the Zap moves on without a deck.

Make it safe: add a Filter by Zapier after Get Presentation that only continues when the status is completed, so nobody gets an empty link.

Every answer lands somewhere in the deck

One Google Forms response, sent through the Forms → Twistly → Gmail template with default settings. The Zap maps each answer to a Twistly field once, at setup. Every new response runs the same way, and Twistly writes and designs the rest.

Setup

Build any Twistly Zap in five steps

The same skeleton works for every app. The workflow pages above show the field mapping for each one.

Connect TwistlyPaste the API key from Settings → API key in the Twistly add-in.

Solución de problemas

If a Zap goes wrong

Most likely first.

The status says queued or processing and there’s no file link. Make the Delay longer (3 minutes covers most decks) and add a Filter that only continues when the status is completed.

A mapped field was empty when the Zap ran. Open the Zap run history, check what reached the Create step, and test with a record that has every field filled in.

Create Presentation From File takes PDF, PPTX or DOCX up to 25 MB and checks the content, not just the extension. Compress or split bigger files, or re-export them.

An API key stops working the moment it’s deleted, and each account has one active key. If you made a new key, reconnect Twistly in Zapier with it.

Each key can start 100 decks a day. A Zap that fires on a bulk import can hit it in minutes, so add a Filter or turn the Zap off before importing.

About Twistly in Zapier.

Not on its own. With Twistly as a step, a Zap creates a designed .pptx or PDF from data in your other apps and passes the link on.

Create Presentation only starts the job and returns an ID. The deck takes a minute or more to build, and Get Presentation can only return the file once it’s done.

No. Each run creates a new deck. To edit one, open the .pptx in PowerPoint, by hand or with the Twistly add-in.

Not in a Zap. Name any of the 51 built-in templates, such as Berlin or Tokyo. Uploaded templates work in the Twistly add-in.

Zapier tags newly published integrations Beta for up to 90 days, a sign they may still change. It’s an open beta: all four Twistly actions and the twelve templates work for every Zapier user today.
