PPT Merger
Combine multiple PPTX presentations into one professional deck in seconds. No software installation, no loss of formatting, and 100% secure.
Why Choose Our Presentation Combiner?
Combine PowerPoint files into one deck without rebuilding a single slide. Add two or more .pptx files, drag them into the order you want, and this free PowerPoint merger returns one editable .pptx — with every source deck’s own slide master and theme carried into the merged file.
That is the difference between a merge and a copy-paste: nothing is re-styled to match the first file. No account, no watermark, nothing to install.
What comes through the merge, and what changes
This PowerPoint merger copies each slide together with the design it depends on, so the deck you get back still looks like the decks you put in.
- Slide masters and themes. Every file you add brings its own master, its layouts and its theme into the merged file. Slides keep their fonts, colours, placeholder positions and background graphics.
- Speaker notes. Notes stay attached to the slide they belong to.
- Animations and transitions. Entrance effects and slide transitions defined on a slide travel with it.
- Images, charts, tables and hyperlinks. Embedded media and working links come through untouched. You get an editable .pptx — not a PDF and not a picture of your slides.
Two things do change, and both are easier to handle before you merge than after.
The first file sets the slide size. The merged deck inherits the slide dimensions of the file at the top of your list. Merge a 16:9 deck with an older 4:3 one and the 4:3 slides keep their original shape positions inside the wider canvas — content sits to the left with empty space on the right, rather than being stretched to fit. Put the deck whose proportions you want to keep first, then check the slides that came from the other file.
The master list grows. Keeping every deck’s design means keeping every deck’s master, so the merged file is larger than the sum of its parts, and the Slide Master view now holds one master per source file. That costs you nothing in presentation mode. It matters only if this deck will be edited for months — see the checks below.
How to merge PowerPoint files in 3 steps
Here is how to merge PPT files with nothing installed, start to finish.
1. Add your files
Drag two or more .pptx files onto the upload area, or click to browse. Select everything in one go: a second selection replaces the first rather than adding to it. The minimum is two files, because merging one file is just downloading it again. You can merge PPTX files that came out of Windows PowerPoint, Mac PowerPoint, and the web app in the same batch — it is one file format across all three.
2. Drag them into the order you want
The file list is the slide order. Drag a file up or down and all of its slides move with it. Setting the sequence here takes seconds; rearranging sixty slides in PowerPoint afterwards does not. It is the one step most people skip and then redo by hand.
3. Merge and download
Press Merge. Your files are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection, combined, and the finished deck downloads straight back to your browser — no email, no sign-up, no queue. Ten small decks merge in a few seconds; heavy, image-rich files depend mostly on your upload speed.
Limits, formats, and what to do when you hit them
| This PowerPoint merger | If you need more | |
|---|---|---|
| Files per merge | 2–10 | Merge in batches of ten, then merge the results |
| Size per file | 10 MB | Compress the deck first, or split it into two files |
| Accepted format | .pptx only | Open a .ppt in PowerPoint and re-save it as .pptx |
| What you get back | One editable .pptx | — |
| Account | Not required | — |
The 10 MB ceiling is per file, not per merge, and it is the one limit worth checking before you upload: a deck with uncompressed photography or a couple of embedded videos passes it quickly. Our PPT Compressor is usually enough to bring such a file back under the limit. If you routinely need to combine PPT files above that size, PowerPoint’s own import route below has no ceiling at all.
PPT merge online vs copy-paste vs Reuse Slides
There are three practical ways to merge PowerPoint presentations, and they differ in exactly the place people get caught.
| Online PowerPoint combiner | Copy-paste slides | PowerPoint → Reuse Slides | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Source design by default | Kept — each deck keeps its own master | Adopts the destination theme unless you choose Keep Source Formatting | Adopts the design of the slide it follows unless you tick Keep source formatting |
| Needs PowerPoint installed | No | Yes | Yes |
| Effort for eight decks | One upload | Eight open-select-paste cycles | Eight file-by-file imports |
| Files leave your device | Yes — uploaded and merged on our server | No | No |
| Slide order | Set by dragging files before the merge | The order you happen to paste in | Inserted at the cursor, one file at a time |
Microsoft’s own documentation is explicit about the trap: in the Reuse Slides pane, imported slides “inherit the styling of the slide they’re inserted after” unless the Keep source formatting box is selected. That unticked checkbox is the most common reason a combined deck comes back re-coloured. A PPT merge online removes the checkbox from the equation — source formatting is the default here, not an option you can forget.
Use PowerPoint’s built-in route when the files are confidential enough that they must not leave the laptop, or when you want three slides out of a forty-slide deck. Use a browser-based PowerPoint merger when you have several whole decks, no time, or no Office licence on the machine you are working from — that is the case a slide merger in a browser tab actually solves.
Three checks before you present the merged deck
- Slide proportions. If any source deck was a different size, its slides now sit in a canvas they were not designed for. Scan them in slide-sorter view; anything off-centre needs repositioning.
- Fonts. Merging does not embed fonts. If one deck used a typeface that is not installed on the machine you present from, PowerPoint substitutes it — the same thing that would happen with the original file, except now it affects one section of a longer deck. Check the slides that came from other people’s files.
- The seams. Every file you merged brought its own title slide, and those are now mid-deck. Delete them or turn them into section headers, then re-check slide numbering and any table of contents.

Add both .pptx files, drag them so the deck you want first sits at the top, and press Merge. You get a single editable presentation with every slide from both files, in that order. Merging two PowerPoints takes about as long as opening one of them.
Between two and ten, at up to 10 MB each. To combine more, merge ten, then merge that result with the next batch — each intermediate file still has to stay under 10 MB.
No. Each file’s slide master, layouts and theme are carried into the merged deck, so slides keep the fonts, colours and backgrounds they were designed with — the thing every PowerPoint merger promises and a copy-paste quietly breaks. The one thing that does change is the slide size, which is taken from the first file in your list.
Yes. Entrance effects and slide transitions set on a slide are carried across with that slide, along with embedded images, charts, tables and hyperlinks.
Yes. Notes stay attached to their slides — which is the point if you are handing the combined deck to whoever presents it.
Not directly: only .pptx is accepted, so this is a PPTX merger rather than a converter. A legacy .ppt uses a completely different internal format — open it in PowerPoint, use Save As → PowerPoint Presentation (.pptx), then merge the new file. The same applies to .odp files from LibreOffice and to Keynote files.
Yes. Anything saved as .pptx since Office 2007 uses the same underlying format, so you can combine PPTX files from PowerPoint 2016, Microsoft 365 and the web app in one merge without converting them first. Only the old binary .ppt needs re-saving.
Yes. The output is a normal editable .pptx, so any slide can be moved, edited or deleted in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote. If all you need is a different file order, though, dragging the files before the merge is faster than moving slides afterwards.
Yes: free, with no sign-up, no trial counter and no watermark on the output. Merging never asks you to create an account — the Twistly AI presentation maker is a separate product, and this free online PPT merger works without it.
