Sometimes a rectangle just won\u2019t cut it. You\u2019ve got a square photo, a round logo idea and the feeling that your slide would just look better if that image were a circle. We get it. The good news is, we can easily show you how to crop a picture into a circle in PowerPoint. Once you know how, you\u2019ll see just how easy it is.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, without further ado, let\u2019s crop it like it\u2019s hot. Here is how to go about it step by step<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Click on the picture you want to crop. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Go to the Picture Format<\/strong> tab in the ribbon. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click the Crop<\/strong> dropdown (in the Size group). <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Hover over Crop to Shape<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Select the Oval<\/strong> shape. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. For a perfect circle, click Crop<\/strong> again and adjust the aspect ratio<\/strong> by holding Shift<\/strong> while dragging the crop box. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Press Enter<\/strong> or click outside the image to apply. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Adding a Picture to a Shape in PowerPoint <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    But, there is an alternative method as well, which can be useful if you are starting with a shape and want to add a picture to fill the shape. Let\u2019s take a look at how that\u2019s done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Drag your shape onto the picture you want cropped. If you don\u2019t have the shape insert, select Insert <\/strong>and select the shape you want. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. In the case of a circle, hold the Shift<\/strong> key and drag to form a perfect circle. Then drag it on top of the picture where you\u2019d like it cropped. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Select the shape. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Click the Merge Shapes <\/strong>button, then select Intersect<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
